Thank you for mentioning this column when contacting the organization in need. It is the only way we can track our success.

Wishes Fulfilled:

Girl Scouts of Sedona is grateful to receive several sewing machines and have several more loaned to them! The Girl Scouts are now very busy making clothing for girls around the world!

Volunteers & Participants Needed:

Hospice Compassus needs at least five caring individuals to become Hospice Volunteers to visit with patients, offering them companionship and emotional support. Hospice offers flexible hours which fit volunteer availability. Even the training provided is tailored to volunteer availability to study and learn on their own schedule. Hospice Volunteers can make a real difference in the lives of their patients and their families.

League of Women Voters of Greater Verde Valley is a nonpartisan organization serving Sedona and the other communities of the Verde Valley. The League is now looking for new members to help accomplish their mission: to provide voter education, election information, candidate forums and public programs on policy issues affecting Sedona and the Verde Valley. There are many opportunities to learn and to serve. Tasks are varied, such as helping with arrangements for forums, voter registration, publicity, member recruitment and fundraising. They also welcome donations in any amount. For more information, see the Sedona Wish List webpage.

Goods Needed:

Sedona Charter School consists of three carpeted classrooms: Lower Elementary (first to third grades), Upper Elementary (fourth to sixth grades) and Middle School (seventh and eighth grades), which have seen a lot of use over the years. Due to the high daily traffic over the years, each of them is badly in need of new carpeting (and installation). They also need three new or gently used reliable vacuum cleaners – preferably OREK as they have lasted the longest for them in the past. Those who would like to help with the carpet project or donate vacuum cleaners can see the Sedona Wish List website for details.

 ■ Humane Society of Sedona needs Thundershirts for dogs in all sizes. These shirts work in combination with other tools to help calm, de-stress and relieve anxiety. Thundershirts can be found online and in pet stores.

YMCA of Sedona still is in great need of books for first to third grade children in their after school program.

Funds Needed:

Red Rose Inspiration For Animals requests donations to pay for the free spay and neuter services which they offer throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley for pet owners who can't afford the low cost services offered by other organizations. Even low cost can be expensive for a large dog. Red Rose is supported completely by an all volunteer team which allows 100 percent of its proceeds to benefit free animal rescue programs they have created. Additional funds are requested to help feed the animals at Little Orphan Animals in its larger support network .

To those wonderful community residents who donate and/or volunteer, thank you for mentioning Sedona Wish List when contacting the organization in need.
